I am sure you have noticed, but I hide the dates of my blog posts.

How to Make Money Blogging
There are two schools of thought on blogging…

I was reading Mike Masterson’s blog entry on the book “The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business Is Selling Less of More” — where Mike noted…
Whereas in the last 100 years businesses have been looking for hits to provide profits, an increasingly large share of profits are coming from the “long tail” – small sales of niche products.

Here is a good blog entry on attracting regular readers.
Commenting on other people’s blogs… linking… and WRITING regularly are the most important.
Many bloggers STILL don’t get that you need to build a list of readers. A newsletter or ezine pulls readers back.

I love Ben Settle.
Not in a Mark Foley sort of way, but as a smart marketer.
As I was reading a blog entry on coming up with powerful headlines, I realized that the exact same method he uses to find powerful headlines, could be used to find content topics to write about…
Topics that are hot. Topics that will attract eyeballs. Topics that will pull in traffic.

Here is a good article on how negative thinking sabotages your writing. This article would have been better as a positive piece i.e. turn the 5 negatives into 12 positives and then named the article…
“12 Secrets Any Writer Can Use To Explode Their Productivity and Profits!”

It seems that the Tennessee bombshell (aka: Lynn Terry) has crossed the line and begun creating far-fetched stories in order to make a buck. She has sold out — and by her own admission has been “doing it for years“.
PayPerPost is a cool little service that hooks advertisers up with bloggers… All you have to do is post ads on your blogs, which are not as obtrusive and offensive as it might sound. Most of them are actually pretty cool – and you will likely find ‘ads’ that relate to your niche or topic.

I was reading a blog post on why business people should podcast and although the blogger does bring up some good points, I would like to improve upon it.
The reasons marketers (not business people) should podcast…

A great blog entry on how important a great title is…
The purpose of a post title is to give you some idea of what the post content is…before you go to the trouble of click/selecting it.
Blog readers are busy. In a hurry.

I have spent the week re-thinking traffic strategies.
Why?
Because of three new developments with Google:
1: Price Gouging As I talk about in this thread on the Seeds of Wisdom Forum, it appears that Google is price gouging. Clicks are NOT 1 cent per click. I have been unable to buy a single click at 1 penny. All have been 10 cents or more… and some have been as high as 40 cents, even if I am the ONLY advertiser for the search term.
2: Click Fraud I had my ass handed to me a few weeks ago, when I ran an add in Google’s content network. I was smacked with hundreds of expensive click-throughs with a conversion of 0%! Was it click fraud? Who knows. It could have just been curious tire-kickers — but the fact that clicks were so unproductive led me to kill the campaign. The search engine results were fine.
