I’ve critiqued 11 split-test materials for my clients this week so far, and I realized many people *do not* know how to conduct split-tests properly – leaving the results virtually useless.

For the most accurate results, test only a specific area of your marketing piece at one time…

  • one price against another
  • one headline against another
  • one sales page with audio vs. an exact copy only without the audio
  • one sales page with a header graphic vs. an exact copy only without the graphic
  • one set of bonuses against another
  • background graphic vs. no background graphic
  • one style of font against another

Phew! I am finally done with my new sales letter. What a pain in the ass. It literally took me two weeks to get it like I wanted it — and still I am not satisfied. However this is where I need to start based on my testing.

I am running a split test of my headlines right now. To do that, I am using some amazing FREE software called the Scientific Internet Marketing Assistant, which is a PHP script that runs on your web server.
